The Slow Spin Society Podcast Ep.14 - Terrible trends and fixed-gear ideas.

G'day listeners 🤠

In this episode, we went through some (terrible) trends and ideas that have entered and left the scene over the years and shared our thoughts on them.

Whether it's ultra-compact riser bars or 3kg deep-colored aluminum rims, there's a good chance we trash talk trends which you (and we) have followed! This is, of course, all in good fun and our opinions don't and shouldn't prevent anyone from customizing and using their bike the way they want to.

Here is a list of things we discussed:

-Oil slick (petroled) parts

-Super Deep aluminium Rims

-Aliexpress “tires”

-Thickslicks

-No bar end plugs

-Brakeless + TT bars for city riding

-Rear brake instead of front brake

-Clipless sandals

-Weird bb standards (press fit)

-DIY Drillium

-Aerospokes and other plastic rims

-Elitist side of cycling

What fixed gear trends do you particularly like or dislike? Let us know!

Don’t forget bar tape and see you next week! 📼
